Israel's bakeries stopped supplying grocery stores and supermarkets with subsidized bread Sunday morning following the refusal by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor to raise bread prices.
Israel bakes half a million loaves of subsidized bread per day. Unsubsidized loaves are being supplied.
Bakery owners are demanding that the government allow them to raise prices following a sharp rise in the price of wheat worldwide.
