Sydney police arrested on Sunday an Israeli citizen suspected of smuggling a large quantity of drugs into Australia, local newspapers reported Monday.
Binyamin Rosenfeld, 46, allegedly hid 113 kilograms of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA - commonly known as Ecstasy) inside tennis balls. The balls were tucked in a shipment of water heaters.
The value of the narcotics was estimated at $37 million.
Police investigating the shipment, which was intercepted on its way into New South Wales, said that other suspects could be arrested outside Australia.
