J'lem caregiver held for swindling 100-year old

A 31-year-old Filipino caregiver was under arrest Thursday for allegedly exploiting her 100-year old Jerusalem employer by pocketing over NIS 100,000 of his money, police said. The foreign worker, who was apprehended following a complaint lodged by her employer's grand-son, is suspected of taking over NIS 100,000 from the Holocaust survivor's money over the last six years in order to buy herself and a friend who lives in east Jerusalem an assortment of personal items. The caregiver has confessed to the allegations against her, police said. She was remanded in custody for four days by a Jerusalem court on Thursday, ahead of her planned indictment.
