Joint PA-Israeli operation brings back 2 dozen stolen cars to Israel

In what Samaria and Judea District Police hailed as a significant step in cooperation between Israel Police and their colleagues in the Palestinian Authority, the two units conducted a joint operation in which cars stolen from Israel and driven into the West Bank were returned to their Israeli owners. The cars were all recovered from the area surrounding the northern Samarian city of Jenin by Palestinian police. Ultimately, police hope, a total of 43 cars will be returned in the coming days, although only about two dozen actually made it back across the Green Line on Sunday. Some of the cars had been badly damaged, either in the course of the robberies or during their "Stay" in Jenin, with windshields smashed, radios stripped, and graffiti painted on them.
