Kadima MK Yitzhaki resigns over Winograd report

MK Avigdor Yitzhaki (Kadima) handed in his resignation to Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik Thursday morning. Yitzhaki said the reason for the move was the failure of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to resign over the Winograd report's findings. "I'm keeping my promise to my constituents," said Yitzhaki, adding that Israel was faced with a dire "leadership crisis." Yitzhaki, who announced his planned resignation last week, is expected to be replaced by Shlomo Mula.
