Police Chief Insp.-Gen. Moshe Karadi had no intentions of punishing Tel Aviv District Cmdr. David Tzur, he said on Thursday.
Tzur, the first officer to be cited in the Yaron commission's list of individuals recommended for punishment by the committee in charge of investigating the escape of serial rapist, Beni Sela, has received full support from the police chief.
"We are talking about one of the Israel Police's most excellent officers," said Karadi in a ceremony commemorating the establishment of Rishon Lezion's police station.
Karadi added that he would make his decisions on Sunday regarding the findings of the Yaron Commission.
