Katsav to Muslim leaders: Issue anti-terror decree

Israeli President Moshe Katsav called on Muslim spiritual leaders Friday to issue a religious decree against terrorism in the wake of this week's deadly hotel bombings in Amman, Jordan.
Katsav spoke to Milan-based daily Corriere della Sera before a three-day visit to Italy and the Vatican, saying that cooperation between religious leaders "has become essential" in the fight against terrorism.
"When so much blood flows in the name of Allah, the leaders must stop it," Katsav was quoted as saying by Corriere. "I expect all Muslim spiritual leaders to publish a fatwa against these bombings."
