Several dead fish were discovered Friday along the marina in the northern part of the Kinneret and were sent for laboratory tests, Army Radio reported.
The Kinneret Authority is examining the possibility that pesticide poison was used by fisherman in the hope of increasing the amount of fish caught in their nets.
The authority is also investigating whether the poisoned fish were sold to the public, in which case they would pose a serious safety hazard.
