Labor Court president decides there is no need for professors to respond to injunction petition before Monday.

The Senior Lecturers Union and the Council of University Presidents will continue their negotiations under the auspices of the National Labor Court, it was decided Thursday afternoon.
The decision came after a meeting at the court between the lawyers for each party. The sides, and their lawyers, will meet again at the court at 1:00 p.m. Monday. Finance Ministry Wage Director Eli Cohen will also be invited to the meeting.
The professors were supposed to respond by Sunday to the presidents' petition to the
court demanding injunctions be issued to force the lecturers back to work, but Labor Court President Steve Adler decided that there was no need for to respond before Monday's meeting.
A solution to save the academic semester seemed a long way off on Thursday morning as the Forum to Save Higher Education at Ben Gurion University of the Negev closed the gates of the Beersheba campus to protest against the Finance Ministry.
Professors, students and junior faculty staff demonstrated in support of the senior lecturers strike which would enter its 10th week on Monday if no deal is reached between the senior lecturers and the government.
The forum prevented anyone from entering or leaving the campus.
