Lieberman to appoint Yossi Gal as FM's director-general

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman will announce on Monday his decision to appoint Yossi Gal as his director-general. In doing so Lieberman will be keeping his word to man the position with a professional figure from within the ministry, as he committed to Foreign Ministry employees at the changing of the guard ceremony a few weeks ago. Gal, an experienced diplomat who served as Israel's ambassador to the Netherlands, is currently the ministry's senior deputy director-general. He will be replacing Aaron Abramovich who was appointed by former FM Tzipi Livni.
