The Likud's constitutional committee on Sunday morning approved the party chairman Binyamin Netanyahu's proposal by which individuals with criminal records would not be able to represent the party in the Knesset or be a member in one of its institutions.
The proposal will be brought before the party's Central Committee for a vote on January 1, 2006.
