Likud sources: Sharon has decided to stay in party

Senior Likud officials said early Wednesday morning that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon apparently has chosen to stay in Likud and will make an official announcement to that end in the coming days, Israel Radio reported.
The Likud sources said that last week, the prime minister had planned to leave the party, but changed his mind in recent days. Party leaders said that the mood in the Likud had changed after Amir Peretz's election as Labor Party leader.
Sharon's supporters have been testing Sharon's chances of defeating Netanyahu and said that if his chances are good, he will run against Netanyahu for party leadership.
