New Kadima leader Tzipi Livni said Friday she would act quickly to set up a government following the resignation of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
"He announced that he would quit once the [primary] results are out and I expressed my appreciation for the way in which he chose not to end his term," she said during a faction meeting at Kadima's Petah Tikva headquarters. "From this moment on, because there is a country to run, we must act quickly. Not because I want to, but because the country is facing difficult challenges."
