Livni: Release of captive soldiers is humanitarian issue, not political

"It is incumbent on the international community to press for the release of our soldiers. It's not a political issue, rather a humanitarian one," Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said on Thursday. "This year the Schalit, Regev and Goldwasser families won't be able to celebrate Passover- the festival of freedom," the foreign minister said at the launching of a children's book by Gilad Schalit being held in Ashdod which was attended by the parents of the captive soldiers. "Today in every house in Israel the word freedom is negatively connected to the freedom denied to the captured soldiers," she said.
