Igor Daikov, 48, from Kiryat Shmona, was arrested at the beginning of the week after he attacked his wife by beating and wounding her, in hopes that his incarceration would provide him with the opportunity to kill his son's murderer, police announced on Wednesday. Although Daikov has refused to cooperate with investigators, his wife provided testimony that her husband had beat her in order to exact revenge on their son's killer. Yivgani Daikov, 18, was murdered two and a half weeks ago in the yard of a Mikve (ritual bath), in the city. On Wednesday, Nazareth's Magistrate's Court approved a request from police to extend Daikov's remand until legal proceedings are completed. Meanwhile, police are intending to serve the man with an indictment charging him with violent abuse of his wife. In addition, investigators are considering whether to charge the man with plotting to kill his son's murderer. In the span of 24 hours, both Daikov's son and another man, Anthony Ziskin, 25, were killed, and their bodies were found within 300 meters of each other. The Acre Magistrate's Court has issued a gag order forbidding the release of details of the investigation. Currently police have three suspects in custody. A fourth suspect was released after being held for one week.
