Man held on suspicion of attacking policeman in Haifa

Haifa police on Friday were seeking the remand extension of a man in his twenties suspected of grievous bodily harm for allegedly attacking and lightly wounding a policeman.
The alleged incident occurred on Thursday night when the policeman leaned into the man's car window to check his license. The man allegedly sped off with the policeman hanging from the vehicle and the officer eventually fell. Despite his injuries, the policeman checked the man's background and found that he had a criminal record.
The suspect was arrested a few hours later and police said he admitted to the offense.
