The Tel Aviv District Court on Wednesday sentenced Michael Idos to eight years active prison service and a two-year suspended sentence, after convicting him of attacking an 80-year-old woman in whose apartment he lived.
Idos hit the woman with a glass bottle, struck her with her walking stick and strangled her.
Initially, Idos was charged with attempted murder but his defense team reached a plea bargain agreement with the prosecutors due to the psychological problems Idos was suffering from and the charges were reduced to grievous bodily harm.
