Man killed when unlicensed driver crashes car into pole on TA bridge

A 21-year-old man from Shoafat was killed overnight Wednesday when the car he was riding in slammed into a pole on a bridge in Tel Aviv. According to reports, the driver of the car was an 18-year-old girl who had taken the vehicle from her parents without permission, despite not having a driver's license. At three in the morning the two were driving over the Kibbutz Gluyot Bridge in Tel Aviv when she hit the pole, critically injuring the passenger. The driver was apparently not injured, and fled from the scene. After a brief police investigation, officers arrested the girl. She will be brought to Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court for a hearing on her remand.
