Man to get remand extended for stealing parrot

A 24-year-old Herzliya resident was brought to the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Monday for a remand extension after he was caught red-handed stealing a parrot. The bird was stolen last week from a Derech Jerusalem apartment in the city. When the parrot's owner realized what was happening, he pursued the suspect, who fled into a taxi. The owner succeeded in intercepting the taxi at Moshav Rishpon and rescued the parrot from the taxi's trunk. The suspect fled the scene. The suspects' identities were revealed following a police investigation, and on the same day, police arrested suspect Liran Cohen, 20. Cohen's remand was extended by three days, and he was released on Sunday. The second suspect was arrested on Sunday afternoon.
