Marciano: Labor won't give up on welfare portfolio

Labor faction head MK Yoram Marciano on Saturday called on fellow Labor MK Eitan Cabel to convene the party's Central Committee to decide which ministerial portfolio they party would be willing to give up in exchange for the welfare portfolio. "Labor won't give up the welfare portfolio because of the ministers' stubborn insistence on staying in their current positions," Marciano said. "Giving up the welfare [post] is an absolute denial of all of the social goals that Labor presented during the elections."
