Maryland governor: Olmert is 'relaxed' despite corruption scandal

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert appears "relaxed" despite a corruption scandal that could force him to resign, Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley said on Wednesday. O'Malley met with Olmert shortly after Defense Minister Ehud Barak called on Olmert to step down. "He seemed his usual relaxed and charming self, he seemed focused and very much looking toward the future," he said. O'Malley is visiting Israel to explore business cooperation in biotechnology between Baltimore and Israel. They briefly spoke about the US elections. "Whoever is elected will be a friend of Israel," Olmert's office quoted O'Malley as saying.
