Khaled Mashaal, head of Hamas' diplomatic office, said on Wednesday that every step Israel takes towards peace will be reciprocated by a similar step by Hamas.
Mashaal, in a lecture at Damascus University, said that Israel should withdraw to the 1967 borders and recognize the rights of the Palestinian people.
However, Mashaal added that it did not seem as if Israel was going to recognize these rights and therefore there was no other option but to continue resistance.
