MK Ami Ayalon has been sending mixed messages regarding whether he plans to take up the education portfolio, Army Radio reported on Sunday night.
During a ceremony he headed on Sunday evening, Ayalon appealed to Education Minister Yuli Tamir in an attempt to reassure her, saying, "We promised we would not deal with education before the primaries or after. Don't panic, we're not discussing any portfolios."
However, Ayalon's aides said he has not yet ruled out aiming for the post.
