MK Bishara escapes reprimand for strong language

The Knesset Ethics Committee decided on Tuesday not to reprimand MK Azmi Bishara (Balad) for shouting obscenities at MK Gilad Erdan (Likud). The committee decided to disregard Bishara's yelling "go f*** yourself" to Erdan after Bishara explained he had used such strong language since he thought Erdan was insulting him. Erdan criticized the committee's decision. "The decision causes almost as much damage to the image of the Knesset as Bishara's remark. It is inconceivable that a committee whose job is to protect the Knesset's honor would tolerate a statement so vulgar it doesn't belong even in the street," Erdan said.
