The National Religious Zionist Renewal Party of MKs Effi Eitam and Yitzhak Levy, which ran as part of the National Union-National Religious Party in the last election, has a new name.
The party will now be known by the much shorter name Ahi, a Hebrew acronym for land, society and Judaism that means "my brother" in Hebrew.
Eitam and Levy decided to start a campaign for all the parties that make up the NU-NRP to hold a joint membership drive and then elect a new chairman among the members. Levy said he hoped the party would attract secular right-wing voters.
