Mordechai Vanunu's departure ban extended

The cabinet decided Thursday to extend the order banning nuclear whistleblower Mordechai Vanunu from departing Israel. The ban has been in place since Vanunu's release from prison in 2004 and was extended for an additional six months, according to Israel Radio. His lawyer Michael Sfarad said the Justice Ministry claimed that Vanunu was likely to expose more state secrets. Vanunu was imprisoned for 18 years for leaking nuclear secrets to a British newspaper.
