Many of Israel's workplaces, including businesses, municipalities, banks and the education system were to remain closed during election day in order to encourage their employees to vote. Hospitals will operate according to a holiday schedule.
On the other hand, public transportation was expected to increase their operation in order to assist the public in reaching the ballots. Voters living more than 20 km away from their ballot will be permitted to travel free of charge on their way to vote.
