Next stop in Olmert Bank Leumi probe: Australia

The National Fraud Squad plans to send a team to Australia next week to carry out a judicial inquiry into billionaire Frank Lowy, as part of the investigation against Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in the Bank Leumi scandal. In mid-January, police began looking into allegations that the prime minister intervened in the government tender for sale of the controlling interest in Bank Leumi, on behalf of Lowy and American businessman Daniel Abraham - his friends and former business associates. Rebecca Anna Stoil contributed to this report.
