A senior Palestinian negotiator with the Israelis said on Tuesday that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will meet Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Wednesday at Olmert's Jerusalem residence. It will be the first meeting between the two since Olmert announced he would step down in September under a cloud of corruption charges.
"Tommorow President Abbas will be meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Olmert in his house in Jerusalem," Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat told Palestinian radio Tuesday morning. Olmert's office declined to comment.
