Olmert and Barak resove differences on meetings with intelligence officials

The differences between Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Defense Minister Ehud Barak were resolved during a meeting Thursday, and the two reached an agreement on how to work together, Israel Radio quoted a senior source in the Prime Minister's Office as saying Friday. Reportedly, Olmert and Barak hammered out a procedure for consultations and meetings with the head of the IDF Intelligence Branch and with senior members of the intelligence community, and a procedure for meetings between the heads on the Shin Bet and the Mossad. The root of the disagreement between the prime minister and his defense minister was Barak's decision to call off meetings between intelligence officials and elements in the PMO that were not routed through the Defense Ministry. In response, Olmert instructed the heads of the Mossad and the Shin Bet not to meet with Barak. The two are scheduled to meet again on Sunday.
