Prime Minister Ehud Olmert phoned newly appointed Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Monday and congratulated him after Barak was sworn in to his new position.
Olmert, who was in Washington for talks with US Secretary of State Condoleezze Rice, also spoke with outgoing defense minister Amir Peretz and thanked him for his service.
