Olmert: Germany agrees not to deal with Hamas

Acting Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Sunday thanked Germany for its "efforts to prevent terror groups from receiving funding from European charities." Olmert was speaking after meeting visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Merkel said Germany would deal with Hamas only if it recognizes Israel and renounces violence. "We agree that terrorism is unacceptable, as is negotiating with terror groups that do not accept the existence of Israel," Olmert said, "and I appreciate your approach."
