Olmert, Mubarak to meet after coalition is formed

Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will visit Egypt soon after he puts together a new government, his office said in a statement Thursday. The statement said Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak called Olmert to congratulate him on his selection to form a coalition government. The last prime minister to visit Egypt was Ariel Sharon, who attended a summit meeting in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheik in February 2005, where he and Palestinian Chairman Mahmoud Abbas declared a cease-fire to end four years of bloodshed.
