Olmert, Putin discuss UN sanctions against Iran

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday about Iran's nuclear program. Olmert told Putin that he hoped the UN Security Council would vote to impose sanctions if Iran continued to flout the international community's demands that it stop its nuclear development, Army Radio reported. Putin reportedly praised Olmert's Sde Boker speech, in which the prime minister said that Israel would concede "large territories" for a "true peace", and promised that Russia would continue its role in the diplomatic process.
