Palestinian police arrested three Israelis, including an IDF soldier, at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem on Saturday.
The 19-year-old soldier was accompanied by a 37-year-old man and 24-year-old woman. The three, who are all from Palmahim, said they came to the West Bank town to see the fir trees.
The soldier was transferred to IDF Military Police and the couple was questioned by civilian police.
The IDF stressed that Israelis are strictly forbidden from entering the Palestinian territories.
