The IDF was investigating Palestinian claims that the army shot and killed a nine-year-old Palestinian girl overnight Thursday next to the security fence in the Gaza Strip.
The IDF reported that its forces recognized someone carrying a large bag near the security fence around the Kissufim crossing.
Forces called upon the person to stop, and then fired a warning shot into the air. When there was no response, they fired to halt the person's movement.
Palestinian emergency services said that they found the body of the girl a few hours after the incident, Israel Radio reported.
