Pedestrian killed while crossing road to help stranded driver

A pedestrian was killed Monday overnight when he tried to cross a road to help a woman change the wheel of her car.
The 60-year-old man was hit by a car in Yavne, the driver of which apparently failed to see him. He was critically injured and a Magen David Adom team that arrived at the scene was forced to pronounce him dead after resuscitation attempts failed.
Police have opened an investigation into the incident.
