Peres welcomes Barak's intention to ease lives of Palestinians in W. Bank

President Shimon Peres on Wednesday welcomed Defense Minister Ehud Barak's announcement regarding his intentions to improve the lives of West Bank Palestinians via economic and industrial development. Peres said that Barak's policy, revealed Tuesday, would create a fundamental difference between Israel's actions towards Gaza and its policy in the West Bank, by highlighting the advantages of living under the control of the Palestinian Authority.
