Police arrest man for murder in Australia in 1996

Police have arrested a 41-year old man for the murder of his girlfriend, Yael Levy, in Western Australia in November 1996. National Police spokeswoman Shira Liebman(also Yachbal) said on Tuesday that the man originally convinced local police that the cause of Levy's death was a car crash and so the case was closed. However, Israel's Serious International Crimes Unit (Yachbal) reopened the file in August last year after receiving new evidence. Following an undercover operation that was carried out in co-operation with the Australian police, they made the arrest. Police have also accused the man of pimping and have arrested his father for aiding and abetting the murder of Levy, who was 29 and from Rehovot.
