Police shut down a Mercantile Discount bank branch on the main road in Ramle on Tuesday morning on suspicion of a money laundering scandal centered at the branch.
Bank officials are suspected of cooperating with the criminals, who allegedly deposited tens of millions of shekels into fake accounts.
The money reportedly came from extortion and gambling.
