Labor: New allegations of political corruption are 'a moral earthquake.'

Sources close to Attorney General Menahem Mazuz said Monday morning that there appeared to be sufficient justification to open a criminal investigation against former Kadima MK Omri Sharon, following Channel 10's publication of Sharon's office date books Sunday night.
The report detailed dozens of Sharon's notes from 2004, when he was still a Likud MK, and included meetings allegedly intended to arrange political appointments for Likud central committee members. Sharon reportedly met with several prominent politicians who have since joined Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's Kadima party.

The latest example of alleged political corruption provoked indignant responses from across the political spectrum.
Labor called the expose "a moral and political earthquake," and called on Mazuz to demand that Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert resign.
Likud MK Gilad Erdan said that the report "showed the public how Kadima was established - through 'jobs' at the expense of the public," and declared that "No honest person could support [Kadima]."
A Shinui source characterized Kadima as "corrupt from stem to stern."
