Religious councils to suspend strike temporarily

The religious councils’ strike will be suspended until after the Succot holiday.

The religious councils’ strike will be suspended until after the Succot holiday. The Histadrut paused the strike after receiving a request to do so by Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar, Israel Radio reported. Beginning on Monday, burial services throughout the country will return to order. Rabbi Amar promised to work through the Prime Minister’s Office to arrange for full payment for the religious councils’ workers. Histadrut members were fuming over the Prime Minister’s Office’s directive to withhold pay from workers for the four days of striking.
