Israel prevented the assassination of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, the British daily Sunday Times reported on Sunday.
According to the report, Israeli intelligence informed Abbas that the Izz a-Din al-Kassam Brigades of the Hamas planned to assassinate him during a visit to Gaza. The warning led the PA chairman to cancel his trip.
