Right-wingers protest 'abandonment of evacuees'

Approximately 1,500 right-wing protesters demonstrated in front of the prime minister's residence in Jerusalem Wednesday night, rallying against what they called "the government's failure to take care of the Gush Katif evacuees." Some protesters placed themselves within golden cages, bearing signs reading "One hundred days locked in hotels, where are the determination and sensitivity?" referring to the state's slogan during the disengagement. The Yesha council and Binyamin regional council joined the event and decided to establish similar demonstrations every week. Heads of Binyamin council Pinhas Valerstein and Gaza Strip regional council head Avner Shimoni spoke at the rally.
