Right-wingers protest evacuation in Jerusalem

About 100 Israeli right-wing activists demonstrated on Wednesday at the main entrance to Jerusalem in protest over the violent evacuation of the Amona outpost, police said. The protestors were prevented by police from blocking traffic on the main highway leading into the capital. One demonstrator was arrested on the scene. The protestors intermittently pelted police with scenes, Jerusalem Police Spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said. No injuries were reported. Twenty other people held a similarly peaceful protest in downtown Jerusalem.
