Palestinians say victim mentally chal-lenged with toy gun; IDF: He was armed

The IDF reported that Maglan forces shot and killed an armed Palestinian in the Kabatiya refugee camp in Jenin on Wednesday.
The troops said they shot at a group of Palestinians who opened fire on them.
Palestinian sources, however, said that the victim was a mentally challenged 15-year-old carrying a toy gun who was accidentally caught in the crossfire between Israeli security forces and a group of locals who threw rocks at them.
The teen, Mujahed al-Simadi, was reportedly shot in the chest and killed instantly.
The IDF entered Jenin overnight Tuesday on an arrest mission. Three Islamic Jihad fugitives were nabbed during the operation. Two other Palestinians were wounded in the incident, Israel Radio reported.
