Settlers attack officials giving evacuation orders

Settlers with stones, paint, and eggs attacked representatives of the army's Civil Administration who arrived Tuesday morning in the Situnai market in Hebron in order to hand out evacuation orders to eight settler families. The families were requested to evacuate within 12 days, since they had not proved that the land upon which they were situated was theirs. The civil administration said that the land undoubtedly belonged to Jews, however the settlers entered their houses without permission and were thus being evacuated. Overnight Monday, security forces evacuated an illegal outpost that was founded last week near Hebron. The evacuation was completed successfully and without exceptional circumstance, Army Radio reported.
