Minister of Education Meir Shitreet (Kadima) called the recent statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin, which indicated that Russia would hold official contacts with Hamas, an "international scandal" and a "stab in Israel's back."
"What would happen," Shitreet wondered in an interview with Israel Radio Friday morning, "if Israel were to invite the leaders of the Chechen rebellion for a visit?"
