Slomiansky: Stop Depeche Mode concert on 9th of Av

MK Nissan Slomiansky (NU-NRP) called Tuesday on the organizers of the Depeche Mode concert to change the date of the performance, which he said fell on the fast of the ninth of Av. The concert, to be held at Park Hayarkon, is scheduled for August 3rd which this year falls on the day in which Jews mourn the destruction of the First and Second Temples. According to Slomiansky, the law prohibits cultural or entertainment events and all venues must be closed on the fast day. "It distresses me that specifically on a day of national mourning Israeli promoters decided to bring a rock group to perform in Israel. I expect them to announce that there has been a mistake and the date of the concert will be changed," he said.
