According to a new political survey carried out by Mina Tzemah and Camille Fuks for the National Union Party, the Likud Party headed by Ariel Sharon would win in the next elections with 37 parliamentary seats, while a center-right party headed by Sharon, were he to break off from the Likud, would win 35 mandates. In that scenario, the Likud with Binyamin Netanyahu at its head would only take 20 mandates, Yisrael Beiteinu headed by Avigdor Lieberman would win eight seats, and Shinui would win eight seats as well. The survey also showed that if the National Union Party and the National Religious Party (NRP) combined into one party it would win 20 mandates. However, if the parties were to run on separate tickets, they were projected to win between 7-12 seats combined.
